A little late to the “November intentions” party, but hey, better late than never, right? This time of year brings the perfect mix of excitement and reflection, so last night, I found myself falling into a late-night rabbit hole of Black Friday sales. It was around 11 p.m. when I opened my favourite shopping apps “just to look”—next thing I knew, it was 1 a.m., and I had spent two whole hours doom scrolling through endless options. As I scrolled, I started feeling that familiar pit of regret in my stomach and began to question whether these impulse buys would fit my style long-term or just leave my wallet lighter.
That’s when it hit me: it was time for a new approach. The next morning, I opened Canva and decided to make a moodboard. Since I’m working on defining my personal style, I wanted a space to visualize what I truly want in my wardrobe and avoid buying into trends that don’t genuinely resonate with me. Moodboards seemed like a creative, enjoyable way to organize what trends I genuinely love and those I’d want to wear for years to come.
So, I dove into Pinterest and began pinning everything that sparked a “yes” moment—from jewelry to shoes, to bags and clothes. I picked pieces that felt authentically me, and then brought them together in a scrapbook-style moodboard. The fun of this process wasn’t just in the visuals; it was in discovering patterns in what I chose—pieces that matched my core style, not fleeting trends. I highly recommend this part for anyone looking to solidify their aesthetic without the impulse purchases!

Then, feeling inspired, I decided to take this one step further: why not set monthly intentions? On my commute the next morning, I brainstormed goals for November. What did I want more of? Less of? What habits would keep me grounded this month? With these thoughts in mind, I jotted down a few intentions and started shaping a daily routine around them. Taking this time felt like a mental refresh, a reminder of what I actually value in my life right now, from fashion choices to personal goals.
By the end of this process, I felt creatively fulfilled, clearer in my goals, and surprisingly productive. My next step? Making a budget sheet to keep everything on track. And trust me, I’m no expert in planning or organizing, but I can say that taking this creative approach—especially for those of us who are visual thinkers—felt incredibly rewarding.
If you’re a creative or just feeling a little lost with your goals, I can’t recommend this process enough. Not only did it help me stay grounded during the shopping season, but it also gave me a roadmap for the month ahead. Try it out, and don’t forget to tweak it to suit your style! I’d love to hear what works best for you. Happy November, besties!
